This painting is one of my favorites I've ever done. it was commissioned by my uncle and the canvas is 20-30. It took a very long time and the words on it are from Revelations 22:2.
(me painting in 3rd grade) I am in the 5th grade and I'm eleven years old. I have always been interested in art, painting and learning about other artists and their styles. I have been doing many paintings myself, I have one corner in my house filled with my easel, paintings and supples. At least once a day I could be found standing behind my easel, absorbed in a painting that I'm working on. Starting in 3rd grade, I have sold my artwork to people in my class and also one of my teachers (Thanks to Ms. Biggerstaff for starting it all), as well as other friends, family and people who have commissioned a piece. In addition to painting at home, I love creating at school and have done performance art 3 times, twice at church and once at a Nature Preserve. I enjoy working in watercolor, pastels and acrylics and look forward to trying new mediums like oil paint. I bought oil paints to try them for the first time. I had never used them before and i wanted to use them because the majority of famous artists used them. they take a long time to dry so you can work around with the paint. I only bought 5 colors, red, yellow, blu, white and burt umber so I am really enjoying mixing my own palette I really like this new medium and I think I will stick with them for my paintings. This was for an art contest with the theme Around The World Hospitals were requesting art to cheer the patients that couldn't have visitors due to COVID-19, so I sent this one in these were the first two oil paintings I did. the one of the flag, I painted on the 4th of July, and the face I painted to get used to my new oil paints

Last year I won first place and the 2020 competition is coming up soon. I saw paintings from both years. We stayed at the museum for 7 hours. First my mom's cousin's husband, James, who works there, gave us a tour. 2019 -Madonna and child with the infant St. John the Baptist painting that I like because of its bright colors 2020-The Adoration of the christ child painting has so many details it was neat to see them all up close. 2020 - View of the Dogana Santa Maria della Salute was really pretty and the water looks like it is actually moving. 2020- Mademoiselle Boissere Knitting 2020 - Sunset on the Lagoon Venice was painted with tiny dots called Pointalism that you can't notice without seeing it in real life.
