Art in Worship
This was my first performance art. My church often has artists paint during the service. They paint along with the verses that the preacher is speaking about. I am the first kid to do this for my church. I made a concept picture (see above on the easel below the large canvas) for the pastor to see the week before. The sermon was from Hebrews 11 about Moses and the people having faith in God before they crossed the Red Sea. I learned some new things painting this way, for example, check all the paint before (the white was all dried out), make sure the table is stable (my brushes all fell down one time), and painting for two hours is hard work (my arms got tired). After all this, I still would like to do it again! I enjoy using the gift God gave me in church.
